Happy Birthday, Tyler!
Yesterday was Tyler's 14th birthday, so we celebrated last evening. Krista and Gerald came over for supper. Tyler wanted wings for his birthday meal so I made wings and french fries. Here's the cake I made.
Since he and Troy did so much sledding this winter, I did a winter theme cake. The bump on the left is supposed to be a hill, but it wasn't big enough to put the sled on. A couple of people in my family thought it was an igloo! I guess I could see how they might have thought that! You can't see it in the picture, but I had sprinkled the whole thing with decorating sugar for the snow. He was tickled with it, so that's what mattered.
After supper we played some games of his choice. Payday and Masterpiece. It was fun to play old games again, and we had some hilarious times. Whenever someone landed on a lottery it was so suspensful to see who had won it! Here Annette obviously won!
And I believe here she's haggling with Troy because he owed her money because she had built him a doghouse. There were a few comments made over that one, although I shall refrain from posting them on Xanga.

I think she ended up winning the game. Then we played 2 games of Masterpiece. I didn't take any pictures, but in the second game I laughed until I cried.Oh, and now for the rest of the story.
We drove past this church last Friday evening after we went skiing out at Tussey. So here's what had happened.
Last fall we were eating dinner one evening when Troy made the comment that he saw something so sad today. He had driven past a church, and they had a sign saying they were closed for the season. Gerald and Krista were here for dinner that evening, and as I was getting ready to add my indignance to the conversation Gerald speaks up and says," Oh, yeah, is that that church out in Hartleton? It's not a church anymore, it's an antique shop!" We got a good laugh out of that. I guess it goes to show that things are not always what they appear to be! So the other night when we drove by we thought it would make a good picture.
and now you know...the rest of the story.

Lol, that's so funny!! Wonder why they didn't change the sign though, to say antique shop? Oh well, at least it has a good ending! :)
Happy birthday to Tyler. :) Love the cake...it looks pretty good. :)
What a fun cake. We live at the base of the Sierra's so our house is often a gathering spot for friends insearch of snow. This would make a great cake to serve at the end of a great day of snow fun.
